Liquid Rescale
Web of today is a very heterogeneous environment, with a variety of presentation levels and access methods. There are devices with very different capablities connecting to the Web - small mobile phones, PC computers of different capabilities and large presentation walls.
HTML and CSS does a very good job accomodating to the display environment, but embedded objects, like images, do not adapt such easily. Scaling them (even using good interpolation) ofen causes loss of detail. But, linear interpolation is not the only way. See one of the others:
